What working together actually looks like
I often think of healing as walking a labyrinth. Not a maze with dead ends and wrong turns, but a winding, intentional path that always leads forward. It may curve back on itself. It may feel slow. But every step is part of finding your way through, and eventually, your way forward.

My approach is integrative, which is a clinical way of saying I don't believe one size fits all. I draw from somatic work, IFS (parts-based therapy), mindfulness, CBT, and attachment-focused approaches, and I let what you actually need guide which of them we lean on. Some of our work will focus on the body and the nervous system. Some will focus on the thoughts and patterns running underneath. Healing tends to happen in both places, not just one.

What a session feels like
In practice, that means we might slow down to notice what is happening in your body before we try to make sense of it in your mind. We might get curious about the part of you that has been holding everything together, and the part that is exhausted from doing so. You do not need to arrive with the right words, or explain yourself perfectly. Whatever brought you here, it makes sense, and we can start from there.
Sessions are 50 minutes, and we will find a rhythm that works for you.
Honesty, not just comfort
Sometimes I will offer a direct observation or a gentle challenge, because I think you deserve honesty, not just comfort. That is not about pushing you. It is one of the most respectful things I can offer, and it always comes from your corner.
The work between sessions
And sometimes I will suggest something concrete to try between sessions, because insight without action only gets us so far. Real change often happens in the 167 hours between our appointments, not just the one we spend together. Anything I suggest is collaborative and meant to feel useful, never like a burden or an assignment you can fail.
This is collaborative
You are not a passive recipient of my expertise. You are the expert on your own life, and I will follow your lead while also holding you accountable to what you have said matters to you. I will be transparent about what I am noticing and why I am asking what I am asking.
Nothing happens in a black box.
The practical details
Where we meet
My practice is fully telehealth, which means we can meet wherever you are, not just geographically, but in your life. I work with clients located anywhere in Colorado, Tennessee, and Florida.
How to reach me
The best way to reach me is by voice or text at 720-458-1343, or by email at hello.sorensoncounseling@gmail.com. You are welcome to call, text, or email anytime, day or night, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Please know that voice, text, and email are not monitored for emergencies. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911.
Cancellations
Life happens, and sometimes you will need to move an appointment. I ask for 48 hours notice so I can offer the time to someone else. Without that notice, a $100 late cancellation fee applies.
